Summer Hockey has Come to an End!Aug 25th, 2010
Once again, a great summer of hockey has come to an end
Thanks to Yvonne Dixon and the Magna Center for the Ice time and to Jason and his staff for putting up with the "boys" all summer long. Thanks to Kate at Jerseys for providing us with our banquet venue. All that attended were well looked after and It certainly was a memorable event.
I wish to thank our convening and timekeeping staff, Bernie and Bill Colvin, for their undying support week after week. Without their commitment, the program would not have run so smooth. Mack Zavitz and Brent Hyde from Labatt donated most of our team prizing.
Hats Off Sports and G & A Promotions were big donators for our individual recognition awards, (Sports bags, gold watches, Sport sunglasses, golf umbrellas and angling equipment.) Neil McNeil and his refereeing staff did a great job on and off the Ice. Thanks guys.

Several team reps were recognized for their high level of professional, displaying integrity, great teamwork and support for the type of "recreational" philosophy that we all wish for in a hockey league;

The least penalized and most respected teams from each night were rewarded by "leaving their wallets in the car" for the banquet, with New Direction Hockey picking up the tab for the night for all food and "refreshments."

Year End Banquet
What a great summer of hockey. All the teams are having an enjoyable time and, so far, (cross our fingers) there have been absolutely no major problems whatsoever. Teams are playing with respect and each and every game has been great hockey.
Our season ender is closing fast with only another month to go. WOW! Summer hockey is way too short. None the less, our year end celebration has changed venues and also the date. We are very fortunate to have been able to secure Jersey's Bar & Grill at 14987 YONGE ST., AURORA for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
I highly urge you to come out, support the players and …….. remember, Labatt (thanks to Mack Zavitz and Brent Hyde) is our flavour and the least penalized team from each night will be leaving their wallets at home for this event………..mmmmmmm. Nice!!

New Direction Hockey 2010June 10th, 2010
We're several weeks into the program and all teams and team reps should be proud of the way participants have played with the upmost of respect. I look forward to many more weeks of hockey with all of you!
We are very proud to be playing at the Magna Center, Newmarket’s finest facility for Ice Hockey. New Direction Hockey is dedicated first and foremost to the safety of its players. This means strictly enforced non-contact hockey. We provide a competitive league in a safe and friendly environment for people who have to go to work in the morning. Please carefully read and familiarize yourself and your team with our rules.
Men’s Adult Hockey programs are organized from a select few Ice Hockey facilities in and around the G.T.A. The emphasis is usually based on the numbers’ game, with very little importance geared toward quality. Most Hockey teams are now recognizing this and are searching out for the best available place to play. Loyalty and dedication from a full team of quality people lays a strong foundation to a successful Men’s League. It is my goal to enhance that reputation and maximize our standing with as many hockey players possible.
I have established a very positive reputation in the recreational hockey industry over several decades. Along with a team of quality people that, together, we have over 50 years of experience in the “sphere” of recreational hockey.
In the G.T.A. the industry is a lot smaller than you may imagine. Hockey in metro is a very tight group. Team reps do their homework in this day and age. They want service, service, service and GOOD VALUE. They want the right people to provide this, and they know who is good and who is not. Teams and reps need a “heads up” as to the quality of people running their night out with the boys.
Hockey programs build with the needs of the players being first and foremost. I remain confident that a high level of success will continue for us in this industry. I will direct my energy toward a common goal of an unconditional commitment to you, to continuing to represent the best organized Men’s Recreational Hockey Program in the G.T.A. I am forever grateful for your undying support.
